Originally from Nova Scotia, Alysia Myette now lives and works as a practicing queer and Métis textile artist and bridal alterations specialist in Toronto. After attending both NSCAD University for Textiles and Ryerson University for Fashion Design, she is currently in the process of obtaining her Masters degree in Fashion Studies at Ryerson University. Alysia holds over 7 years of experience in the fashion industry as both a maker and an academic. Through openly identifying as queer, gender fluid and indigenous, Alysia is consistently striving to decolonize herself and to make space for voices within these communities in academia.
